Ah so they're going full "butch rebel /prim and proper suit lady" tropes. I'm ok with that.

It does fit their personalities to a T (even if Betsy is also pretty feminine).

I think she looks fantastic and it doesn't even have anything to do with the gender-f*** aspect at all. It would be pretty normal for a lady in 2024 to wear a suit once in a while. Zendaya comes to mind, for example.

From that one panel Rachel is adopting a more loose, baggy, unstructured wardrobe she "softens" it up with a crop-top (reminds me of Aaliyah circa One In a Million/Try Again and which is a current fashion trend). Betsy's suit is normal for a woman in 2024. To makes it more masculine with the vest and Windsor knot but the cut is still feminine.

Rather than sticking to pre-established and outdated "butch/femme" codes I think he's exploring the idea that fashion is gender neutral, at least with Betsy and Rachel.

Love the Aaliyah reference. And agreed, the suit is a. feminine cut. Women's suits are no longer simply "butch."

Just because theyre considered queer now doesnt mean we have to get butch/femme tropes.

Also they are basically both consider BI currently in canon.

So they can wear whatever and be fashionable but I hope the artists dont try to dress them a certain way they view lesbians.

That would be dumb especially from the straight artists.

The tux is fine I can see them both wearing it.

That Dauterman artbook is being funded on Kickstarter? Why wouldn't Marvel pay for it to be published?
