    Default power-up a mutant!

So take some character who's a Mutant, explain what you think would be a good powerup and why.

Can't go over all the times it's been done in comics, 'cause there's way too many examples from the comics to list all of the times it's already been done.

But two highlights are Angel becoming Archangel due to being a Horseman, or Beast becoming furry and stronger with a secondary mutation... Then there's how the main difference between Magneta and Magneto is simply scale of power. Magneta just can't do as much with her powers.

Well an example from me... I recently pondered how similar Arclight's powers are to those of Whitebeard in One Piece... If Arclight could push her powers high enough to affect a small country all at once? yeah... it'd absolutely look like Whitebeard!

While I like the bamfing, I think Nightcrawler could have gotten a shadow-teleportation, like Psylocke in the Madureira era.
Kate should totally get her Ultimate amelioration and become more dense.

I'm not really a huge fan of power upgrades. Most cases they are really dumb (Hot Claws anyone?) and in other cases it just takes away from the character and/or story. Give me creative uses of the powers they already have any day.

Like Cyclops using a bank shot to down a foe ect.

Cyclops gets a new visor that gives peripheral vision and can allow him to see in color via a VR overlay projected on the inside of the lens.

Added into this is his spatial awareness getting boosted enough that he can use it defensively - making him able to dodge bullets even if he seems to be moving in slow motion to observers.

Magma should be able to turn herself into lava and do some of the stuff Iceman can do. Turning into a giant, transfering her consciousness form one volcano to another...

Mirage. She could get back the power to make her illusions solid. It was hinted as being part of her potential in the earliest New Mutants issues, so she should be able to do it naturally by now.

Catseye. More transformations between full human and full cat. Also size changing from house cat to huge tiger.

Jetstream. Ability to control his power (so not burning himself) and to use his plasma field in offensive ways (being to proverbial spear to Sam's shield)

Rubbermaid. The more she extends, the more durable she gets.

Dryad. Equip her with a gun shooting seeds from various plants (not only from Earth) that she could make grow instantly. Hissatsu Midoriboshi!

Goblyn. Make her faster, way faster than the other claw people.

Centennial. Reveal that he died and was resurrected in a younger body. He now reaches Hyperion/BlueMarvel levels.

Jubilee’s recent power ups in comics and X-Men ‘97 should stick-

In both mediums… Jubilee has used her powers to either hover upwards in the air, or to slow her descent back to ground-level. While not a huge change in strength… it greatly increases her mobility.
Also, in both, her powers have been shown as more destructive in the Motendo episode, in Excalibur, and in X-Terminators. I think writers should continue to acknowledge her strength and balance it out more… so she isn’t randomly throwing ineffective light bursts in one issue, and then a power blast in the next. Instead, make her powers situational- blinding and stunning human enemies, destructive blasts to objects and tougher bad guys, and keeping the atomic blasts for the main threats. Have other characters mention these strengths on panel or during episodes so that fans can see she has a wide variety instead of just being ‘useless.’

Give Christian Frost a blue or black diamond form.

Trance's astral form should mess with machines the way Kitty's phasing does. Mechanical psi-blockers should be ineffective against her. When her astral form makes physical contact with a telepath it should neutralize their powers.

Angel should have limited precognition. Nothing like what Destiny can do, just enough foresight to be a step ahead in a physical fight. Sort of like a slightly more effective Spidey-sense.

Make Indra's armor more organic looking, give him detatchable plates whose size and shape he can manipulate to a limited extent.

Mostly aesthetic, but, Graymalkin's power should be transformative, where he gets more monstrous looking the darker it gets.

Archangel: Let's play into the angel angle. Since he's been exposed to Life and Death Seeds, give him a healing ability like Elixir/Triage and a death factor like Omega Red, and a suped up version of Gambit's charm ability that makes people worship him/follow his commands.

Phoenix: Add pyrokinesis and Jean can have the Phoenix motif without needing the cosmic chicken's baggage.

Cyclops: Give his powers two settings: off and FULL POWER OPTIC BLAST!!!! He'd still need the visor for precision control over his optic blasts, and would probably still wear the ruby quartz shades just to be safe, but he wouldn't be totally handicapped without them. If Havok and Rogue have control of their powers, it's time Cyke did, too.

Synch: He can bestow the powers of those in his aura onto others in his aura. Best example: giving Chamber the ability to husk a new form or grow more skin. :P

Husk: More like a regression to her earliest power manifestation and her AoA potential: she can turn into anything, from animals to plants to energy.

Jubilee: In addition to letting her sub-atomically detonate matter at her full potential, bring back the psychic slipperiness/resistance/cloaking she had when she first appeared.

Changeling: In addition to being a metamorph, throw in the psionics he got from Professor X.

Heh, as a kid I was a bit confused as to why she didn't actually. TAS was my first exposure to X-Men, and it has the idea Jubilee doesn't fully understand how to use her powers. We see her figure out a few cool tricks, like that thing she did to disable Mojo.... and,.... I kinda thought it'd make sense for her to be able to fly.

Yeah, Angel had a glowing Angel phase once upon a time... and he used it to heal Abraham Keiros.... soo... that's kinda something he's already done

Cyke is a weird one... 'cause in theory Elixer could fix him....

Wasn't Cyclops situation at some point explained to be psychological in nature?

Maybe they could expand on what Wind Dancer can do with her power.
    • She can carry sound from far away to let her eavesdrop. What if we go the other way and let her send sounds far away/muffle them? She can move silently or stop sound-based attacks.
    • She could compress air underneath her feet and use them to "launch" herself, making her move much faster. Like rocket boosters.
    • Secondary mutation: Her main power is actually to control oxygen, and her new mutation allows her to control other gasses. She can change chemical compositions in the air, allowing her to create knock-out gas.

    Wolfsbane
    • I recently joked with my friends that if she can still turn into many dogs, she should call herself Wolfgang. Anyway - if she can still do this, please delete it.
    • Expand exponentially her ability to communicate with other canines, in a much more sophisticated way, until she can command an entire army of wolves.
    • Define her transitional forms. Example - Full wolf: heals the fastest, most acute senses, best animal communication, etc.; Mid Were-form: strongest - can flip cars and punch through steel, most precise talons, largest / most durable, can translate between human and wolf, etc etc

    Magneto
    • Just kidding

    Vanisher
    • Explore his connection to the Darkforce connection a bit more
    • Give him his darkforce levitation
    • Allow him to have general invisibility and intangibility - sorta like the Harry Potter invisibility cloak, but instead, he's just sitting in a little invisible darkforce space pocket sipping the T

    Beautiful Dreamer
    • This one's a little creative...
    • Call her Dreamer.
    • Make her Mastermind's sister (her Gifted name was Sonja, an anagram of Jason... why not make it a thing)
    • Give her a backstory that Mastermind stripped her memories, maybe out of fear, which is how she ended up with the Morlocks.
    • Make her dream smoke an amalgam of Mastermind and Pixie's abilities, a hallucinative memory control
    • Maybe even make her dream smoke somewhat physical too, allowing her to obscur vision, smother people, limited object pushing, etc.
    • Make her dream smoke tangible like spores - even psychics can't resist it, because it's, maybe, chemical as opposed to psionic.

    Manifold
    • Just make him Omega. It's embarrassing to tease him like he isn't. He controls SPACE. He TALKS to SPACE, and asks it to do whatever he wants... no one is doing what Manifold does. Just admit he's Omega..And in that same vain, just do it for Polaris too. How many times must she swerve Magneto until they define it?

    Mercury
    • Allow her to change color and texture to mimic a human look...
    • ...and therefor ANY human form, a new metamorph
    • Show her exploring how to adjust her appearance, her color and size, and even her larynx so she can control her voice.
    • Take her to T-1000

I have so many more... but I'll stop here until someone says they like my ideas, lmao.
Queen of Mutants, Mistress of Magnetism, Magnetrix and the MII, Pestilence of the Horsemen of Apocalypse, the Krakoan Oracle and creator of the Sanctus Sacrum Tournament Key, the Threshold Seed Shaper, Brood Queen of the Fall of the House of X, Lorna Sally Dane, Ph.D., of the House of M, Polaris of the X-Men
