Can't that be said about most neglected characters?
After all one of the most prominent mutant characters is a short harry guy with knives in his arms and the ability to heal faster than normal (i'm using the early depiction as basis here). By the premise alone the guy should be a low to mid level supportive character only, helping or clearing the way for those with the truely impressive powers, but thanks to reader, writer and editor popularity he could kill gods and people would nod that it's absolutely reasonable.
So technicaly any C-lister or neglected student could in theory become the greatest badass in the universe if the writers put in the effort and readers are open to accepting them as such.
So...no big new announcement on the Destiny of X books, as yet?
Lord Ewing *Praise His name! Uplift Him in song!* Your divine works will be remembered and glorified in worship for all eternity. Amen!
Probably got their days mixed up. They seem to announce more things on Tuesdays than Mondays. At least it seems that way.
Featuring stories by an all-star lineup of creators including writers Kieron Gillen and Gerry Duggan and artists Dustin Weaver and Matteo Lolli, FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: AVENGERS/X-MEN #1 will lay the groundwork for an event that will take the Marvel Universe by storm in 2022 and forever change the relationship between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and mutantkind.
Truly cant think of how much more the dynamic between Xmen and Avengers can change anymore but I guess we’ll see…

aybe the X-Men become the Avengers! Since mutantkind is the next evolution of humanity let humanities super team be representative of that. An all mutant Avengers maybe on token metahuman or other. Let them replace the avengers and let the avengers have to be hated by the public.
