I wrote a whole head-canon for it… how it happens and, more importantly, what it means for Cable’s status quo going forward.

Basically something happens with his virus where it’s out of control and his powers are no longer strong enough to keep it in check. Xilo, or what remains of Xilo after Uranos killed a big chunk of them, begins eating Cable’s techno-organic virus and in so doing somehow gets permanently bonded with him on a cellular level. So now Nathan is no longer infected with the virus, but he does have a symbiotic relationship with Xilo… and thus, “Xible” is born in present day 616 continuity (as opposed to just the +100 Sins of Sinister future).

As a result, Cable (or Xible) has access to some of Xilo’s abilities, like the entire collective memory of the Arakkii… think of it like his Infonet back during the Cable/Deadpool run, or kind of like Xilo replacing Belle (or The Professor before Belle) as his onboard A.I. system. Plus he can also self replicate/repair himself like Xilo does, by consuming inorganic material. As for his own mutant gifts, well, his TK would be nerfed down to “tactile telekinesis” (like Superboy) which means he can use it to create protective fields around himself as well as to augment his strength when lifting, punching or kicking something or someone (in other words, he has to be touching them to use his TK). And his TP is also nerfed down to “psi sensitivity”… meaning, again, he must be near someone to use it… in order to sense them or their intentions, and thus it acts like a very short-term precognition (like he had during Spurrier’s X-Force run).

All cool tweaks to Nathan’s status quo IMO, but with precedent in the comics already. And I would find a symbiotic relationship with Xilo far more interesting at this point than his T-O virus which has kind of played itself out as a plot device honestly.

I think Rogue is basically a lock for Uncanny Avengers, although that doesn't prevent her from being part of another team too obviously.
