And there's the crux...if he can grow hair separate and apart from his "velvet-like coat" he's obviously quite capable of growing facial hair. The hair on one's arms and legs do not grow at the same rate and length as the hair on one's face and head nor is it the exact same texture.

Have to agree, here.

He's been drawn off and on by several artists over the years with a certain degree of facial hair, usually on just his chin. It's not completely new.

It is an exception, but the vast majority of canon would suggest he shouldn't grow a beard. Continuity is a funny thing. There's exceptions and contradictions for everything.

Maybe the Uncanny cover will be like "X-Men #1", all of the X-Men together in the first arc, but only a few will remain as part of the core team.

I'm beginning to think that Uncanny X-Men might not be a typical team book, but rather a collection of X-Men characters and tales- it'd explain why Jean, Storm, Nightcrawler and Beast are on the Yu cover despite already being in Red + Astonishing. Depending on the creative team, I'm all for it. It'd be a nice way to see interactions between characters not in the same book/s, and a means of uniting the various divisions of mutants that exist right now.

I think we are looking at "No Surrender" but with the X-Men and more long-term.

Get hype. Most of us wanted a throughline for the franchise. I think one is coming.
