Emma keeps herself young through the power of spite.

Has it ever been established whether people with the Mutant gene are more long-lived or have slower aging then normal, non-powered humans?
I mean, it would explain a lot .
(Setting aside Healing Factors)
With JDW on top of the STS, younger characters are still kids.
Kitty is probably only still 18.
Monet is only 17, and Jubilee is 15 lol

You can't revolt against the sliding timescale, that's creating a mess for someone else to fix. Kitty and all the 80's kids are in their early 20's. Age isn't that important to how a character acts but it's something writers should keep in mind before scripting Kitty as this hardass leader who would normally still be in college. All the X-Men sans Logan are fidget spinning Gen Zs or avacado guzzling millenials.

I just go with whatever my headcanon is.
I was trying to do too much and not doing any of it as well as I could. But I've had a change of mind... though not everyone shall enjoy it. I will.

"We come into this world alone and we leave the same way. The time we spent in between - time spent alive, sharing, learning together... is all that makes life worth living." - Jean Grey
If Marvel really want to keep the Sliding Time Scale, then they need to stop giving measures of time in their stories. Stuff like knowing the P5 incident lasted four months, or the IvX lasted six months is enough to call out the STC for the bullcrap it is.
Not to mention the Secret Wars timeskip, which was eight months. It should've aged everyone by a year. Squirrel Girl got it right, she was now a second year student instead of a first year. But Runaways claims it's been two years since the death of Gert Yorkes in volume 2. Bear in mind, the current series is volume 5. And Fantastic Four says it's been one year since Secret Wars (Miles Morales Spider-Man seems to support this - he's just had a birthday and a new school year has started). That accounts for the timeskip, but means the other year Runaways mentions is over a decade in real time. Which I guess WOULD explain why none of the X teens are allowed to grow up.
