her relationship to Empath is somehow toxic to Empath. The last time they were together he saved her from destroying a town in Ecuador because she was hysterical after her boyfriend died in MDay, and she ended up blaming him for things he didnt do.

the bad thing he did to her was the "Selene retcon" that was retconned as a lie.
when in the 90s they retconned the roman town in the Amazonas as being British people Selene had kidnapped and brainwashed a short time ago, Empath who was happy living there, mind controlled the whole town to make them continue living there, but that retcon was so bad that it was abandoned and went back to them really being the descendants of ancient romans and the city really being very ancient.

he also didnt do anything wrong in the story in which Pixie blinds him, he had been kidnapped, brainwashed and sexually abused by Madelyne Pryor. Under normal circumstances they would have freed him, but they put him blind and in jail in Utopia.

I do remember that people were pretty horrified that he had been manipulating her emotions in such a way where she wasn't sure if really did love him or if it was his powers controlling her so he could be with her. Some considered that rape but there was never anything implied as such except for that.

She confirmed he manipulated her telepathically and explicitly called him a rapist in the 198 mini.

She died after that and was resurrected in Necrosha. She made an appearance in a Deadpool comic a couple of years ago
