It wasn't a fully bodyswap, more that they were melded together so that both bodies were like 50 percent Kwannon and 50 percent Betsy, enough so that telepaths couldn't tell the difference between them and to Logan they smelled the same...

No. She's the team leader, Excalibur is called Excalibur because she made it that way, the main plots has to do with Otherworld and her family. Apocalypse is like this key figure holding the strings.

I doubt anyone will get this reference, but comparing this to OUAT, Betsy's Emma and Apoc is Rumplestilskin.
