From what i gathered Captain Marvel travels into an alternate future during that storyline. I assume it's either going to be quickly brushed aside, or never explained why these two hooked up. Alternate futures briefly visited by present day characters often result in such "what ever" pairings being presented.
So it seems we have opposing viewpoints regarding the design. Which means there are only two options left. Duel at noon, or just accepting people to have different opinions and feelings on designs.
Really digging that Magik panel.
Cannot wait for some Illyana & Doug bonding this week
Rogue and Gambit kid has to be there too?

Hmm, I feel like this would hold more weigh if she were ever written as an all powerful Goddess, but when has she ever been over powered certainly not in the last fifteen or so years. If not longer, she is consistently used for diversity points by white male writers, and Marvel. For a long period of time she rarely used more than one ability(Lightning or Wind) across multiple titles. Many of her most impressive feats of power, occurred in solo series or anywhere outside the X-titles.
I'll never forget, Gillen stating he didn't really know what to do with her, yet he never had a single issue in writing Magneto who he had casually acting as the nervous system of a Celestial and who had recently pulled a giant bullet to Earth, from lightyears away. Speaking of which, it always stuck me as odd that no one could find much for Storm to do meanwhile Magneto, who I consider very similar in power and stature. Has been used consistently and prominently across several flagship titles and solo books, with writers almost foaming at the mouth to use him. Which cool, maybe you could say preference but that same preference seemed to apply to Charles, Scott, Wolverine, Cable, Apocalypse, Mr. Sinister, Emma and any other of the main figure heads of mutantdom in the last 20 years. Hell even forgetting everyone I just mentioned, there are dozens of characters in Marvel alone who are consistently Godlike in power and used incredibly prominently in the last 20 years.
It's always been such a copout in my opinion, especially when you have various writers outside of the X-men most notably writers of color having no issues incorporating the fundamentals of the character alongside her powers without her being "overpowered".
Hickman is probably the only flagship X-writer in at least fifteen years or so to even have a slight plan/idea for her, let alone her voice.
What in the world....
Those are some good points and i have to admit it makes my percieved issue with how her power and skill level make her potentialy difficult to write quite weak as argument.
Though i think in case of Magneto he might be more compelling to write because he keeps bouncing between heroic and villanous qualities like a ping pong ball, which gives writers more opportunities to write the character in different ways (moraly grey characters seem to be the popular thing among writers for a while now). Same goes for Emma Frost. While as i mentioned Storm is a fundamentaly moral character and to break that would cause a massive uproar (just see the reaction to the reveal how Storm not Cecilia Reyes was original meant to be the evil warden in the New Mutants movie).
But that's not a hill i'm willing to die on, especaly since many of the characters you mentioned as overexposed and/or overpowered are not any i'm particular thrilled about seeing constantly either (i can respect Cyclops though).
Can't say i could come up with much to do with Storm as a writer, but i wouldn't find much for those characters either, including Magneto who i wholeheartedly agree got ridiculous in his powers. So maybe i'm biased against high powered characters in general.
So again. I think you are right and i should re-examine my partial feeling towards what made Storm so weakly written over the last decades in comics, cartoons and movies.
Seems some writer wanted to spin the "amalgamation children" wheel again
Considering they are presumed dead in the aftermath issue of Ten of Swords it was obvious they got send into some kind of action during Ten of Swords. So that makes sense. Also seeing how much fun the writer seems to have with Nanny and seems to like Greycrow i think those two are at least safe bets to survive.
Orphan Maker meanwhile i could see dying, in part because it might cause Nanny to seek a replacement and expand her character (and potentialy backstory). Similar Empath, if he is even alive again allready, might not have the best of chances.
I can't believe how excited I am to read Nanny and Kid Cable.
A year ago I would have been heartbroken at the idea.
