I like his figure-work, there’s a fluidity to them, an ease which is good to see. He says Kurt is a favourite to draw, which is alway a bonus.
Looking forward to April and wondering what the big twist is at the end of the first issue? I’ve not read anything by Spurrier before but his CV is interesting.

This has always been funny to me, Remender was like an entirely different writer between Uncanny X-force and Uncanny Avengers. Does anyone know why he was so angry?

Just as stupid imo, to Wolverine killing all the X-men in Old Man Logan. How?!

As for the cover to, it nice to see Sabra there and it looks like Magneto is using the female bricks to handle Hyperion, but the way the SS is always getting mind controlled (putting Rachel to shame), Emma should be enough.

But mainly, I hate the premise. There's no way I could believe the five members of the SS could run through all of the mutants united.

Maybe not a dump but definitely ham-fisting their attachment of all things X-men to the Avengers and it is ALWAYS forced or inorganic. About your last point, anytime these massive cross overs occur or any use of X-men by non-X-men writers the X-men are always either beaten easily, conquered, or killed. And I will never understand the mentality, outside writers have regarding the X-men.

One reason might be that over the past decades the X-men gathered a large amount of powerhouse character, which writers might percieve as issue for their planned stories, as they could easily handle so many villains or problems writers could come up with. So they need to be removed asap, in order to actualy allow tensions (in their minds) to happen.

Or perhaps it's a lingering after effect from the X-men's strong popularity in the 80's and 90's (and to a degree still the early 00's), to the point they essentialy overshadowed and sidelined many of the other teams in terms of public awareness and popularity.
To the point that Marvel was primarily associated with them and Spiderman at the time.

That and writers apperently using mutants too often as easy power source for villains or heros was what motivated Joe Q. to demand the whole House of M and Decimation thing in first place. Because he thought that was necessary to give everyone else room to breath and become popular.

So perhaps these current writers still feel the X-men need to be pushed down again in order to not overshadow the other teams.

Could easily see it being a combination of all of these things, but it's so funny to me in a sad kind of way!

EDIT: Couldn't miss this opportunity, but remember when Marvel was literally pushing to force the X-men down the rabbit hole so they could replace them with the InHumans? Marvel has had a tumultuous relationship with the X-men ever since losing then regaining the rights.

Have we confirmed who this young woman is, Bets in the form of Kwannon, a newly freed Kwannon? Or some combination of both people, because I'm unclear on what or who the narrative is following.

So less white british Betsy in a japanese body and more Betsy re-imagined as japanese?

Wouldn't be the first time. It seems for AU stories they like to make Betsy asian looking from the start, in order to have her in the more well known appearance without the headache of the "put in a japanese body" story.

If only popularity was a superpower. The man starts blubbing like a baby the instant he's in a basic reality distortion field.

more like an ambigious mixture of the two, british psylocke has a way bigger presence in people's perception than you might think, that land ilustration with the two versions is an extremely common picture used when people talk about psylocke.

It's a bit I guess when a new adaptation of a robin or whatever, where more times than not they mix and match traits from dick, jason, tim, damian

IMO it’s not a bad way to go about it. You get the best of both worlds by making her English of Asian immigrant ancestry.
