As a 90s kid, you guys have no idea how much I wish these were coming from a real set! Russell Dauterman kills it again with the nostalgia! These are part of a series of variant covers he did for the new X-Men ongoing and obviously inspired by Jim Lee's trading cards set. At the time, getting a whole set of trading cards devoted to just the X-Men with EVERY SINGLE CARD drawn by Jim Lee was out of this world. Nothing like that will (or has ever) been done again!

I must admit I was a tad disappointed Hickman is not the one following up with Ororo's new mission - but if she's in a relaunched/retooled SWORD written by Al Ewing and with Cable to boot, I'd really have zero complaints.

I must admit I was a tad disappointed Hickman is not the one following up with Ororo's new mission - but if she's in a relaunched/retooled SWORD written by Al Ewing and with Cable to boot, I'd really have zero complaints.

If there's ANYONE in this era who Storm would be in good hands with its Ewing. I truly believe he will do good work with her and it will be nice to see Storm in a new environment and her potentially working with Cable gives me vibes of their team up against the Hulk in the 90s.

Man SWORD is one of those books I wish was bi weekly. The skipped months don't help lol not gonna lie wish Storm was LEADING a team but if she's joining SWORD I have few complaints. Wonder if she's gonna butt heads with the way Brand does things. Can't imagine Ro would be too happy with the whole assassination plot.

I don't think SWORD actually needs to be retooled, thought. It's one of the best X-books around.
I'm surprised Hickman's new book isn't about Krakoa colonizing Mars.
