Jorge Jiminez has the same problem, his designs are stomach turningly awful.

But Jiminez, like Larraz, is fantastic artist. Maybe they just don't get the design elements like they do the style elements of their work.

just wondering if these are three different designs or if we get a glimpse at his powers? Maybe he is indeed a humanoid incarnation of Krakoa? I wished they would go all out and use the third plant design.

p.s. as spectacular Larraz art is, he is really not particular great in character design, isn't he? (I look at you Arakkii mutants......)

Didn't Larraz design Apocalypse kids, White Knight, Isica and Pogg? Also didn't he design a good chuck of the Hellfire gala costumes? Or was that some one else.

Apoc's kids and most Arakki: yes
Hellfire Gala costumes were designed by other artists, specially Dauterman

My favorite designs by him are fish-lady from XoS and Polaris.
My least favorite are Isca and Captain Krakoa.

You're right it was Dauterman that did most the heavy lifting for the Hellfire gala. I think the Arakki from XoS looked great. Since then it's been pretty generic with a few standouts.
