Okay, so if I include both Wonder Woman and Isis, we have two "goddess" types. If I include both Zatanna and Manitou Dawn, I have two sorceresses. There already was overlap in my roster but it wasn't as blatant. But here's my amended roster anyway:

1) Black Canary
2) Batwoman
3) Vixen
4) Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz)
5) Katana
6) Manitou Dawn
7) Isis

Yeah, I took out Wonder Woman and put Black Canary in instead. Trading DC's biggest superheroine for DC's second biggest superheroine. It loses some star power but I think it feels a little more diverse in terms of heroine types.

Wow, I love this lineup. Vixen, Manitou Dawn *and* Isis? For a group with no Wonder Woman or Zatanna, you've got some serious mystical mojo there! Jessica brings a more science-fiction element, and Batwoman, Black Canary and Katana are more street-level, the 'Batman / Green Arrow' types of the group, which is cool.

Again, there are just so darn many League-ready ladies to choose from. I'd want to throw Hawkwoman, Big Barda, Mera, Nightshade, Fire and Ice in there, too! Heck, maybe go radical and include characters like Bulletwoman, Skyrocket, Element Woman, Manhunter, etc.

Same here. Zatanna has always been of Italian descent. On her father’s side. His first name is Giovanni and he and Zatanna are descendants of Leonardo Da Vinci.

I'm familiar and fine with Zee being Italian (although you can be Italian Romani).

As suggested Isis, and/or even more fun for me Conjura (as a multi-dimension swapped Zee analog) works great too!

I had seen the elements of overlap you mentioned (three mystical, three street) and mulled them over a bit too. But I figured a spell caster, an animal mimic and a goddess were different enough without seeming too samey. Same with Batwoman and Katana. I see bat-family members more in terms of being detectives/strategists/creative problem solvers and Katana's focus more on her being a martial arts master. So, non-powered brains and non-powered braw . . . physical ability and technique (it doesn't feel quite right to call Katana "brawn"). And Black Canary's there as a marquee name and leadership.
