As campy as the 1966 Batman show was, West was the Batman for me watching it in the 70's. He will be missed.

I would say he was THE figure in Batman history.

No one can think Batman without him popping up first. Then Kevin Conroy & Michael Keaton.

For years before Keaton-he was Batman from the show to most of the cartoons.

I am shocked. If it wasn't for Batman '66. I don't know where I'd be. Batman was my childhood hero.

God Bless him. Rest in Peace Adam West.

Regardless of what you say, THIS show and HIS Batman set the standard for pushing Batman, Batman & Robin and the "classic" rogues" into mainstream culture...

William Dozier (and ABC exec Yale Udoff) and Adam West played a big part in keeping Batman alive and making him a juggernaut.

He will be missed. RIP old chum.
Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”
