That is good news. I am looking forward to Warner's releasing it this year.

Adam West was, and is still, my favorite Batman by a large margin.

Thank you Adam West for bringing the Batman to life during my childhood.
    May you rest in peace.

Yeah, this really made me sad. Some of my earliest memories are sitting at my grandparents house, watching Batman on their tv. My mom even made me a little cape and cowl to wear.

Adam West and Batman are why the character was my favorite for so many years. I've got all the DVDs now and have been watching the show with my kids, so they'll be able to enjoy and remember this version of Batman.

RIP, Mr. West. You'll be missed.

    ADAM WEST (William West Anderson)

    September 19, 1928 – June 9, 2017

“How many actors have a shot at being a part of something that became a part of pop culture? It’s been very rewarding. I’m not getting the 20 million bucks for the new movies, but at least I’m getting warmth and recognition from people wherever I go.”

And, as he comes to respect that Zorro is a force for good, he ends up being taken to Zorro's hideout...leading to this lovely bit of dialogue:

Dr. Henry Wayne: Incredible! A secret cave - how splendid!
Zorro: I thought you might appreciate it.
Dr. Henry Wayne: Oh, I do, I do... Is that a laboratory I see?
Zorro: Exactly. I have great respect for scientific endeavor, Dr. Wayne, so long as it is used for progress and not suppression.

Clearly, the writer was playing on the fact that Adam West will always be Batman in everybody's mind.
Love his cameo on Zorro and that scene... Implication being inventor Dr. Henry Wayne (played by Adam West) will pass down the idea to his great great great ancestor, ...also played by Adam West.

So I've read The Killing Joke and The Dark Knight, Batman RIP etc and I continue to read Detective Comics, but it was the TV Show that got me into it all. Though the show was played for laughs, Batman and Robin were deadly serious (and not quite the miserable jerk he often is now).
And there is only one Batmobile.
RIP Mr West and thanks to the rest of the team.
