Default Adam West Has Passed Away

It's been confirmed by his family Adam West Batman of the 60's tv show and various animation has died he was 88. He was my first Batman and he will be missed and I hope the work on the sequel the Batman Return of the Caped Crusaders the best Batman film of 2016 to me was finished. It's part a selfish want and also a desire to see him shine one more time and get more do credit. Some might not like the camp of the 60's series it's not my favorite interpretation but Batman was in a dire place back then and that show and him saved the character and rocketed him to pop culture Icon. All interpretation of Batman are valid and he wasn't the Dark Knight but as he would say he was the Bright Knight and my his light never stop shining goodbye Mr. West.

Batman66 was my generation's Star Wars in terms of pop culture impact. I swear I had so much Bat ****.... The lunchbox, coloring book, Colorforms, The Batman theme 45, the Halloween costume... My regret is I couldn't see him at the last NYCC, it was of course completely jammed. I thought maybe I could catch him at this years.... You have to see these old guys while you can.... RIP Old Chum....

Met him at a few Cons. He was a great guy. I'm old enough to have watched the sixties Batman show when it first aired. Loved it then, despite how corny it looks now. Adam will be missed.

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Rest in peace Mr. West. Batman '66 is one of the finest superhero movies. And the show was great too!

Though I was alive (barely), I never watched the show until it began in rerun form back in '69. Loved it and it had its effect as to why Batman is my favorite. By the mid-'70s, though, I began to be disillusioned with the program after reading the comics of that era. Having said that, by the '80s, I came to accept it again as what it is - a campy, comedy show. In that sense, Adam West was perfect in that role.

    RIP

    RIP Adam West.

Makes me wonder what Family Guy is going to do with his character.

Probably the most iconic take on a comic book character
