Batman is the perfect choice. He's the DCU's greatest detective and strategist. He's been on this for a while now and I bet we'll find out that he knows a lot more than just what was revealed in this issue.

No problem. Pick up the book, you won't be disappointed.

I simply don't like him in this role on a multiversal scale. I like my Batman far more street level and only caught up in this stuff when there's no way to avoid it as opposed to being front and center in it.

If others do, fair enough of course. For my money though I would have been more excited to see Terry Holt as the huge gun here. I know it wasn't crafted that way, and I know its been leading to this for some time so you would have to go back a couple years to accommodate someone else in the lead role so I'm not suggesting they should have just thrown someone else in there as is. I just would have preferred it constructed from the get-go differently for someone else.

None of these things is true. A time or cosmic based character would be a better choice narrative wise, and while he's top 5 for both, he's neither the best detective or strategist in the DCU.

I disagree. Who do you think is better?

The second part tomorrow will give us a lot more insight. Glad they're doing this.

But yeah, listening to Batman outside of when in immediate danger really isn't a good idea, and his peers should know this by now.

Yea, lol, they may not have tried hard enough to make that distinction of "mortals, not gods" and "street level." I think my point was that gave lip service to some in story distinction.

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”
