I'd say

Even tho Rogue has been absent from the Xbooks doesn't mean she's stop believing in Xavier's dream. She's doing a damn good job over in UA. (Under good writers that is lol)
I was torn between Jean and Emma considering recent events. I just LOVE how Emma handles other superheroes/villians of the like especially when it concerns mutants.
As for Jean, I really only liked the oringinal. Not really a big fan of the teen one.

Jean, Jeen, and Phoenix.
Why do we need these CIS trinity threads? Shouldn't the mutants have a more expansive view of gender?
IMO, one of the biggest issues with X-books is the writers and editors don't understand the fact that the X-Men cartoon had a larger impact on fandom than the Claremont comics or the Fox movies. Kids who grew up with the cartoon know the classic stories but with different characters. Writers who were too old for the cartoon (Bendis, Guggenheim) and read the comics first likely thought the cartoon was stupid.
No question here: Storm, Rogue, Jean.
Kitty, Emma, and psylocke don't have the same multimedia presence as those three ladies. No contest with the gals.
Primary Trinity: Storm, Jean Grey, & Rogue
Secondary Trinity: Kitty Pryde, Psylocke, & Emma Frost
Up & Comers + ... other: X-23, Magik, and... ... Mystique
Honorable Mentions: Jubilee, Rachel Grey, & Moira MacTaggert
Simmering Just Below the Surface (Characters to keep an eye on, due to their history, potential, & most importantly... upcoming, breakout opportunities, for advancement, and/or at least a raise in awareness & prominence.)
Blink, Polaris, Dazzler, Domino, Dani Moonstar, Dr. Cecilia Reyes, Wolfsbane, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Lilandra, and... Lady Deathstrike?

How I look at it is, longevity, impact, and familiarity. Also tried to ignore TAS and movie influences. Jean was the first female X-Man, she's the Pheonix and the basis for several characters and has influences on the books even while being dead. She was preoccupied in the 80s; when not smashing the world to pieces as a version of Pheonix, her spotlight was shared by Storm, Dazzler, upstart Kitty, and the new-comer Rogue, she wasn't extreme enough for the 90s, most often played the voice of reason, and dead for everything else. But she's still very much the matriarch of the X-Men.

Realistically speaking about fictional matters. | Nutcases need not respond. | Stay outta my DMs. | Why does the "House of Ideas" keep duplicating characters?! | If an idea or belief cannot stand up to criticism it's probably... bad.
