Most popular are probably Wolverine, Deadpool, and Magneto but 2 of them are not really known as 'X-Men' so I understand leaving them out.

Cyclops would probably take the second slot and then it's between Jean and Storm. I want to give a slight edge to Storm just because it feels like she's just been around longer but then again Phoenix Saga might just be too big so I'll probably say Jean

I think jean and storm are both tied for third. I think a case could be made for either.

Storm has been more consistent since she hasn't been plagued with long gaps of death in the story. She's been a strong and steady component of the xmen puzzle.

On the other hand I think Jean's relationships are what keep her in contention for top 3 despite her decade+ of absence. Xavier's prized pupil, Scott's wife and the object of wooverine's affection have kept her at the center of so many stories. (For the record I hate defining jean as "scotts wife" and "wolverine's love", but I can't deny the relevance they give her to stories even in death).

So yea. Jean and storm could both be 3rd so I voted for my favorite.

Cyclops and Wolverine are obviously on it, then it's between Storm and Jean. I think Storm has a bigger presence on the franchise, but Jean kinda feels more like part of the "Trinity with Cyclops/Wolverine" thing, maybe because of the whole love triangle ****? I feel like at the end of the day is more like a quartet, but I guess it would be Storm first since she's on the X-franchise non-stop and has been their leader for many times...

Jean is deserving, but Storm familiarity and staying power can not be denied... which is why Kitty being named new leader is so preposterous. How does she get demoted due to a stint of bad writing?
