Maybe put King on a Batman: The Bwave and the Bowd spinoff series.

By the end of this issue, I just wanted more of her, which I think was the point .
A new classic ... with a classic character. I really love Silver.

I don't know what it is -- editorial interference, King being too nervous writing the icon, or maybe he's just a bad regular Batman writer -- but his run has been so average. Let him work on other project he's more suited to.
Both King's (and also the recent talent like Orlando) strengths are doing one shots/standalones/done-in-ones rather than multi-issues. But for the main Batman book it's kind of the expectation to do multiparters since this is a tentpole book. Nothing they or editorial can do about it.

Is that really the case though given he's also the writer of Grayson (co-write), Sheriff of Babylon, and Vision?

I think that "problem" might be that King is trying to make Batman book a bit more approachable than his niche works, but end result just isn't as good. As for this issue, yeah, can be safely put next to Sheriff, Omega Men and Vision.

I do think part of King's problem on Batman is that it's just too mainstream a title for him to really excel on like he has in past works.

I'm down for that. Kinda hoping Fudd takes out Dr. Manhattan in the upcoming crossover, too.

I loved everything about this issue, including the second story.

Let King write a "Real World" Looney Tunes noir title and I'll buy every issue!

I also liked this issue immensely.

It kind of reminded me of the old Alan Grant/Norm Breyfogle Batman era. There were some downright ridiculous premises that Batman was occasionally confronted with and those stories always took them seriously enough to make them work. I felt like this issue was similar in tone to those.
