    Congrats to seismic-2.

I knew Ty Cobb wasn't gonna win... but I was in a baseball mood. Had I to do it all over again, I'd have gone with this one:

Thanks, everyone! I've always really liked that cover, and I'm glad to see that you like it too. "The Days Are Just Packed", as illustrated by that wonderful drawing of a fully stretched-out sleeping Hobbes, seems to me to summarize succinctly the brilliance of Watterson's body of work, which surely must be considered as being among the finest literary and artistic achievements of the last half-century. Now, a new contest will be posted this afternoon. Enjoy!

Full congratulations go out to seismic-2 and his selection of a true Tiger icon, the thoughts and conscience of all of us little boys out to do whatever. And yes, we are all just little boys. You could argue. But since we're on a comic book forum, the setting is somewhat in my favor.

So what has the Captain learned from this week's contest. I've learned that sexism is not dead. Yes, I'm going there. Hobbes is a symbol of conscience and a father figure to little boys. He is the voice of reason. Tigger, on the other hand is that crazy voice speaking to girls. Pooh is generally dropped by boys very early and anyone who is a Pooh fan past the age of 6 or so is usually a girl. (Dig hole deeper.) Women, go nuts. Have degrees of immaturity. Let your inner Tigger loose.

Thank you for that, Sugar Spun Sorceress (and to everyone else for their nice messages). BTW, here's the particular strip that gave rise to the cover art that won the contest:

    Awesome!
