I just want my wife to be happy, she truly deserves it

I actually liked the interview and it kinda just made me excited to read her in blue now

I trust Bunn to handle it well. This could be a great story dealing with Emma's grief, if Marvel don't intervene.

Geez. When it comes to Emma these days more news is worse news.

It sounds like Bunn knows he must write Emma as a villain but is trying to do it as sensitively as possible

In the playing things close to the vest department they deserve a Gold star in regard to Polaris. Not enough to really try to speculate further what she is doing there at this point.

Writing Emma as damaged but not outright chaotic evil, able to be salvaged even if editorial doesn't let him do it now? Bless you, Bunn.

"But even in the Secret Empire arc, there will be several other mutant returns. Some of the mutants that will be popping up will be changed in mysterious ways. These changes play into something big that we’ve already been building in X-MEN: BLUE and we’ll be exploring in future issues of the series."

What's been building in Blue? Bastion becoming a mutant shepherd, keeping the race safe for a coming slaughter? The Blackbird's odd behaviour? Hopefully not the mutant ninjas.
Probably Beast's mystic studies, though. Yay, Bloodstorm!

So excited for this! X-men Blue has been a real joy to read since it came out. Bunn has really pulled out all the stops. While I'm still waiting for Jimmy to justify his existence, the story has been solid and Bunn has proven that he has a great hold on these characters. Secret Empire may be a bit of an obstacle, but I'm glad Emma is entering the picture again. At some point, they need to confront what she did and how she has impacted the O5 X-men since their arrival. It could go in any number of directions at this point. That's what makes it so exciting.

Why wouldn't he write her as a villain?

Emma? Has she been gone long enough to call it "bringing back"?

I'll say this: if the near-total radio silence on Polaris (they feel fine dropping hints about Emma Frost and doing more to openly hype her return, by comparison) has a good reason behind it, I'll be all for it. But Marvel's history and various factors make me expect the silence is for bad reasons: either someone above wanting it shushed, or some expectation that there's going to be huge backlash to however she's depicted. There are things they could easily say that aren't spoiler-heavy to acknowledge her involvement.
