XMEN Gold #7 Spoilers and Discussion

[Calaigah]

-THEN: Magneto is seen attacking Central park and killing a human.

-NOW: The XMEN are playing baseball while Kitty and Colossus discuss the nano-sentinel attack. Colossus will be fine but he isn’t able to transform back into steel for the time being. Just then a large dark cloud forms overhead.

-Rachel kisses Nightcrawler and he is surprised. Rachel admits to being forward and confesses that when she was knocked out she could feel Nightcrawler’s concern for her and that it was more than just friendly. Rachel admits she hasn’t ever felt her powers so acutely, and has a flashback to her hound days. Anole comes in to tell them about what’s going on outside.

-The main team assembles and they are contacted by Dr. Strang who tells them about the darkforce dimension. Kitty then assigns the XMEN to break up in smaller teams and patrol NYC.

-Anole runs in on Kitty, Colossus and Rachel and reveals the mutant the BLUE team gave them (from the Bastion issue) was murdered. Kitty reveals that Storm and Logan have been investigating a mutant killer and this fits his MO. The X-Cutioner is scene wondering the halls.

-Logan and Storm are out patrolling the streets and Logan discusses maybe retiring sooner than later. Just then, demons that look like the one from the Brotherhood, are attacking humans. Logan saves the human and then Storm saves Logan by shooting lightning at the demon. Nightcrawler is also attacked by humans being mistook for a demon.

-In the mansion, X-Cutioner finds the alien brotherhood member and realizes he’s not a mutant so he lets him out of his cell.

-As Kitty finds a mutant named Oscar dead, Rachel feels him nearby. Kitty wonders why she can’t located him faster but Rachel can’t control her powers that well yet. The X-Cutioner then attacks Eye-Boy and blames mutants for the death of his 10 year old boy. He goes in for the kill.

-Rockslide and Dust are patrolling the halls when they come upon a room filled with bombs that are tamper proof and have 29 mins left on them.

-As the X-Cutioner goes in to kill EyeBoy, Kitty shows up and saves him. Rachel informs them he needs the mask off for her to reach him. Colossus punches him in human form, and the X-Cutioner is revealed to be a black man before his mask goes back on. The X-Cutioner then shoots human Colossus right in the head (the coloring makes it hard to tell if Colossus was able to transform back to metal).

Kurchel is so bad that only Guggenheim could think it's a great idea.

...well, I guess that's one way to keep the wallpaper students to a minimum. And at least we know the writers on the flagship books are actually in communication with each other (or trying to cheese each other off, possibly both. ).

How big/empty is the mansion that a killer can go around without anyone noticing anyway?

This was ok. I like Ken Lashley's art but Anole looked like baby Groot in some pages.

Isn't that a kick in the pants... I was hopeful about that new mutant Belen and now just a sad throw away demise for some cheap shock

Will what just happened to EyeBoy even be referred to in Generation X

Rachel definitely seems way too forward and direct with Kurt can't tell if this is her like losing her mind somehow or what

Colossus definitely looked to have transformed in the last panel

I hate that they're ignoring Apocalypse Wars. That was one of the only arcs I liked on Extraordinary X.

No one, that's who.

How is it bad, exactly? They have hundreds of issues together and have had a thing growing between them for years. This isn't a new character, they have a lot of history and even tried to make out during their Excalibur days.

I'm pretty sure Kurt has kissed her before too.
