Default Favourite song of 2017 (so far)

What's your favourite song of the year, thus far?

Mine is 'Weapon of War' by Cat Pierce (of The Pierces).

This song is a real earworm and I can't stop listening to it.

I really hope that it reaches a wider audience than fans of The Pierces because it deserves to be appreciated by many.

I have no experience of the subject matter (abusive relationship) but the lyrics really make you think.

Cat has a really emotive voice and each of the three songs released so far are really different and stylish.

    Great video too.

    Can't wait for the album.

    I like it.

Here's a link to the video:

    'Weapon of War'

    ***

I've played this album every day since I got it in June.

I like the last of the three bonus tracks quite a lot:

"You came over to my house
You've never asked for anything back
But I meant everything I said

    And now I see
The problem has always been me
    But at least I'm happy
    Yeah, now I'm fine

    Now we can both care
But not have to be there
You said I taught you some things
That I'm not even sure I believe

    And now I see
The problem has always been me
    But at least I'm happy
    Yeah, now I'm fine

And now that's no longer true
    The problem is only you
    But at least you're happy
    Yeah, now you're fine"

I only have one song from 2017 so far on my iTunes: Cold War Kids - Love Is Mystical. That must be my favorite. Come to think of it, I only have one song from 2016, too! I know I probably sound like an old fart, but music these days........

Off the top of my head

Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna - Loyalty
    Future - Mask Off

Guilty Pleasure - Katy Perry - Chained To The Rhythm
What we used to call life has very little worth these days. Welcome to the very edge.

They still make music in 2017?
Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”
