Right? His costume is simple, but SOOOOO awesome! It was one of the first things that drew me to the character.

I thought it was cool during one issue of Johns' JSA run when Jay was running super fast and catching a bunch of bullets with his helmet and one of his JSA teammates replied "So that's why you wear that helmet" and Jay smiled and replied "Yep".

Something along those lines...I’ll have to note the exact quote next time I re-read that wonderful run.

I didn’t sense man crush vibes but there was definitely mad respect and possibly even a little fear.

By the way, do you already have Byrne's Wonder Woman run where Hippolyta travels back to the 1940s and becomes the "Golden Age" Wonder Woman? That arc also had older Jay Garrick and the younger Golden Age Flash.
