Default Who was the first (former) Star-Spangled Kid you ever read about?

All three of the following have, at one time, used the identity "Star-Spangled Kid". Who was the first you ever read about?
    * Sylvester Pemberton - the original Golden Age Star-Spangled Kid; later took the identity of Skyman (first appearance: a preview in Action Comics #40, September 1941 / later featured in Star Spangled Comics)
    * Courtney Whitmore - found Sylvester Pemberton's costume and his Cosmic belt in a box of her step-father's (Pat Dugan, Sylvester's former partner); later changed her name to Stargirl (first appearance: Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #0, July 1999)
    * M'gann M'orzz / Megan Morse - normally operates under the identity of Miss Martian, but took on the mantle of the Star-Spangled Kid in the 2008-2009 Terror Titans mini-series (first appearance: Teen Titans #37, August 2006)

I knew Stargirl first as stargirl and later learnt she was once known as star spangled kid and was a legacy character of another star spangled kid. So i learnt about first two star spangled kids at the same time but voted Courtney as i knew her as stargirl.

I was introduced to Stargirl first, as Stargirl, and Sylvester as Star-Spangled Kid.

I always forget Courtney went by that codename before she became Stargirl .

Courtney was first for me, I knew about a dead hero named Star Spangled Kid, but didn't read anything about him till after the mantle had passed on. Hmmmm now that I think about it I probably read about Sylvester technically first in Who's Who but that really doesn't count as far as I'm concerned, Court was the first SSK I read a story with her as the star

    Hmph.

But to answer that which was asked about the kid star-spangled, searching through my back pages of comic memory I find he was entangled in the tale of soldiers seven without victory disbanded, lost in the unremembered past and stranded, until he was delivered by an aquaman, a wildcat and a lantern green, out of the stone ages into the modern pages and sylvester still just a teen, flung down by corpse nebuloids, unthought of, though somehow, ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

I wouldn't have worded it the way you did, but . . . Sylvester in Justice League of America #102 (1972) for me as well.

Yeah, he was already Skyman when I first ran across the character.
