So, wouldn't that have been the original Kent Nelson?

No idea. I was 10 or 11 and didn't care. I bought it for Flash.

The first Dr. Fate I was familiar with was the 2000s era JSA. The Hawks kid? I was (am) a tad confused.

I'm not gonna say I'm old, but I used to read "The Adventures of Nabu" brand new on pyramid walls.

Oops voted for the wrong Kent Nelson. Didn't realize there was two and just voted for the first name I saw (which is the created in 2007 one, meant the original)
Current Pull: Lazarus, The Realm, Seven to Eternity, Aquaman, Flash, Justice League Dark, Justice League Odyssey, Sideways, Black Panther, Captain America, Daredevil, Death of the Inhumans.

    Future Pull: Killmonger.

Kent Nelson. Probably the origin story that was reprinted in JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA No. 95 (December '71). I might have discovered him before that in various other places, but that's the story that sticks in my memory. However, I wanted to mention 1ST ISSUE SPECIAL No. 9 (December '75) that featured Dr. Fate (Kent Nelson) with Inza, by Marty Pasko and Walt Simonson. I think that was a comic that made everybody sit up and take notice. It was one of those comics where a creative team shows the potential in a neglected character. I think a lot of fans took note of that comic and I don't understand why it didn't lead to anything major for the hero.

I voted for the first choice which was THE ONE TRUE Doctor Fate
I see everyone's fate but my own. Sometimes that scares me. But when I see the future of someone such as yourself, I believe in tomorrow again

Hector Hall for me from the pages of JSA. I kinda liked how Nabu, the Hawks, Black Adam, and the Orb of Ra/Metamorpho all conveniently crossed paths in the old days.

I first came across the character of Fate when he appeared briefly in the Books of Magic, which somehow I found at my school library in Fourth Grade.

    Mine was Kent Nelson.
IIRC, it was the JLA/JSA crossover with the New Gods.
