And some of us were reading comic books before the Golden Age Mr. Terrific was killed off . . .

I first saw the Golden Age Mister Terrific in reprints in the 1970's.

My first and absolute favorite is Michael Holt, especially recently with him being a big part of the multiverse/sci-fi adventurer.

Terry was my introduction through the JSA.
Michael was the character that caught my imagination though.

    Michael Holt.

I can't recall when i was first exposed to him but the moment the character made the greatest impression upon me was when i saw him in a toy line. I found the characters name corny and the characters design to be interesting and slightly off putting initially but the characters background and potential made me over look that issue. I've come to like the character now.

I've said this before but some characters are designed in such a way that if they *don't* succeed it's clearly the fault of the writers and IP owners (Booster Gold and Cyborg come to mind) and other characters, like Mister Terrific and Animal Man, really have no reason to be as compelling as they are save for a writer with a vision.
    Don't complain. Create.

He definitely played an important role on the cover.

Here's a question. Is Holt someone DC should try pushing into the A-list? They made a half-ass attempt with Cyborg (who I still think could take a real position in the top ranks, if done right) but could Holt pull it off where Vic has stumbled? How would you position him for something like that?
I think Holt would've been the better choice

Not as good a choice as Cyborg for a video game.

Cyborg would have had much better name recognition than Michael Holt with non-comic book readers because of the Teen Titans cartoons and later, for better or worse, with the Justice League movie.

Terry, through the annual JLA/JSA team-ups!
I still think there’s SO much that could be done with this character, though I know that will never happen....DC seems intent on making it seem as if Michael Holt is, was, and will be the one and only Mister Terrific!

That might have something to do with Michael Holt being the current version of the character- the one DC is actually invested in at the moment. They always play up the importance of the characters they are focusing on.

Ever since Flashpoint, DC has been slow / negligent to acknowledge most of their Golden Age characters and their histories. They've been slowly bringing some of them back, but there's still a lot more to go.
