For me, it's Kyle/Yost's run, with Remender's run as a close second. I feel like Remender's run actually started better, but it started to go downhill by the end, whereas if anything, the Kyle/Yost run kept getting better.

I feel like Dazzler, Boom Boom, and Jubilee are all variants of the exact same archetype, and I don't really care for any of them, but Tabby was at her best in X-Force, for sure.

Kyle/Yost's run is one of the most badass run ever. Necrosha was just a peak of it's run.

Nicieza and Liefeld's concept of making Cable the leader of the paramilitary group of New Mutants and preparing them for looming Apocalyptic future was wholesome and solid.

Remender's storyline was just the best X-Force story ever told.

But after reading that run I don't think I have heard good things about X-Force.

Remender's run is my favorite, even the ending arc. Of course, Dark Archangel Saga is just one of the best stories Marvel has ever done.

Remender, easily. Looking forward to buying the reissue of the omnibus. I loved Milligan and Spurrier's too.

Kyost's run was one of my most disliked runs on any book ever.

My issue with their run was that it was almost exhaustingly depressing at times. Remender's run was tense, but it had a level of fun to it and plenty of wholesome little moments.

    Depressing?

I thought Remender's run was more depressing storytelling in its own right.

Girl nope. Beast and Colossus and Kid Omega? Please. OG was the best because it was given room to breath and mature and have Syrin and Risque and Adam Pollina. Kyost only saving grace was Vanisher and Domino bringing some levity. Remender was hot garbage through and through.

Laura and Josh's inclusion wasn't that depressing. It just ended in Laura getting depressed but wasn't she always depressed about her life during those times? It's kinda annoying.

Logan killing his own son and Psylocke trying to kill herself and Archangel was some real depressing. Remender may have brought back Daken but it was Logan whose's traumatism was highlighted on UA and UXF.

Yeah, anything with Rahne (heroin and cannibalistic patricide for starters), the extended torture-porn, misplaced earnestness, grimdark art, grimdark cliches, the utterly mystifying Warpath dilemma the series was set on, the killing of characters for shock value (although that was mostly in NXM), blood, whatever the hell they were doing with the vanisher and the 90's esque wangst delivered without a hint of colourful 90's zaniness which might have helped. The final joyous touch was in having Nightcrawler find out and not approve, but get killed immediately because murder is KEWL and Totally Alright With Everyone, and killing charcaters for shock value is our only way of building tension.

Oddly enough - when it crossed with Cable, I found myself enjoying both books a bit more as there was a touch of fun to the relentless silliness. And I wasnt keen on that Cable series either on it's own merits.
