    Default Initiative characters, teams

Why has Marvel stopped using those characters? I miss them all! Was the perfect way to combine older existing characters with new!

Who was your favorite "new" and already existing character?

Who should they have fleshed out more?

    What was your favorite team?

Komodo was one of my faves. Very interesting character concept. Yes, in-universe it's literally a case of someone imitating another, but it made sense. Realistically, I can see why a LOT of people would be willing to try what she did.

Armory should steal back the Tactigon.

Earth Force should have appeared as well as the Mormon team.

Red 9 and Geiger should have gotten more face time.

The Rangers should get a limited series.

The original initiative Order should come back.

Why they stopped using them? Because the Dark Reign status quo was dismantled. I reckon a lot of the 50 State Initiative heroes did the same thing as Cloud 9 did. Captain America invited her to Avengers Academy. Instead, she tore up her registration card, wanting to use her powers (basically just flight) for fun, not combat. That's the last we saw of her.

Of course since then, a new generation of teen heroes has popped up. The Young Avengers and New Warriors both got new members (in their All-New Marvel NOW runs). The Champions came into existence, the Inhumans population exploded, the X-Men are finally no longer on an extinction path. And there's a few more new legacy heroes too, such as Ironheart and the new Wasp.

The Initiative was certainly a push to use characters not normally seen and explore some new dynamics. I think of the Initiative, I'd most like Cloud-9 and Trauma to return. But I have no idea where, given they're not Champions or Young Avengers material (at least not in my opinion) and I'm pretty sure they aren't Mutants. Perhaps have Cloud 9 appear in Falcon and Trauma in Runaways or something. I'm not sure.

Outside of that: there a huge number of Avenger type characters who are rarely used, if ever. So it'd be nice to see some of them scattered across some new teams, even if thosr teams don't have a book of their own.

Definitely a huge Rangers fan...have been since their first appearance. I may have all their appearances, to be honest.

As far as new stuff goes, I loved the Point Men, the Hawaiian Initiative team. Basically 3D Man (later Stingray) leading new characters and Devil-Slayer as the first line of defense against any threats/kaiju/monsters coming over from Japan. I'd love to see them get their own title with Dr. Demonicus as the big bad.

I'm still disappointed that Baron von Blitzschlag didn't clone himself a younger body.

The Fifty State Initiative was a brilliant idea. A way of finally pushing Marvel out of New York on a more regular basis. So much more could (and should) have been made of it. Sadly beyond Dan Slott and Cristos Gage other writers seemed less willing to use the concept (unless it was to show a team getting beaten up or killed as meaningless cannon fodder).

I liked the characters of the main Initiative title. I loved that book.

Non-Stop was cool. Would The Avengers work with a female speedster?

I wish they did a series where each story arc whould have been about a different Initiative team.

The main characters of the first arc were all great and yes, Armory should come back.
Now that Slott has droped his Reckoning War thing, somebody else should run with that, or at least do something with Armory, Gauntlet and Southpaw.
There has been a lot of missed opportunities for the characters: Trauma could have been used in Fear Itself, Komodo in one of those Lizard stories, or as a member of Parker Industries, Baron von Blitzschlag could have been part of Cap's Secret Empire...

The Harvesters all had quite original looks. They deserved to be more than cannon fodder.

Spinner from Freedom Force had a nice power: ability to have one different random power every day. That's solo series material.

I liked the Liberteens, they should have been more fleshed out, and it's a shame that Wizz Kid got killed. But I almost hope that we'll never see Miss America again, I'm afraid writers would use her as a foil for America Chavez.
