Peter Parker #1 outsold any issue of the event book Secret Empire.
Secret Empire #4 and #5 each sold under 100,000 copies, less than a regular issue of Batman. Secret Empire is bombing, and it deserves to.

Any book that places two issues in the Top Ten isn't bombing. Landing outside the Top 50 is bombing. Also, so far it's arguably the best event either of the big two have done. Certainly in the top five.

Also, at issue 4/5, selling 91k/87k is a lot better than most recent MU titles at the same position. You could expect higher from an event, but judging it from Marvel's standards of sales today, it's really not what one could call bombing. Originally Posted by Prof. Warren

Well, retailers were certainly betting big on Spider-Man. We'll see if that paid off based on the drop off on the next couple of issues. That said, it's really nice to see a Marvel Universe #1 handily beating a Star Wars #1 for a change. Originally Posted by Of Atlantis

Absolutely. Some really great titles. Just because a book isn't a big seller doesn't mean that it isn't worth doing for as long as it can last. Originally Posted by nnelg
