This is hilarious. I personally am not convinced that Kite Man's backstory is as good, because I don't really love him getting so dark, but it remains to be seen where King goes from there. I think so far, it's clear that Kite Man serves as an audience "control" character - someone who we can see being affected by the actions of Batman and his villains/Catwoman. Not quite the common man (unless King thinks the common man is totally cool with working for the Joker, which very well may be a thing), but serving that kind of function in a world of gods and demons.
