Robotman: a "man turned monster" who views himself as less than human. Corresponds to the Thing.

Negative Man: a guy who flies around and can generate explosions sort of like Johnny Storm can (albeit in a much different way than Johnny can).

Elasti-Girl: a beautiful woman who marries one of the other members of the team and has a family with him. Corresponds to Sue Storm (and I guess you can sort of say Steve Dayton corresponds to Reed Richards).

I guess the main differences were that (a) the FF were loved by the public, and the Doom Patrol were hated and (b) that Mento and Elast-Girl's marriage didn't last, while Reed and Sue's did.
Those are all good points. I guess in terms of characteristics vs. mission statement, it's one part FF, one part X-Men.

Such a shame that the original team was killed off. If they hadn't been, they'd probably be lead characters at DC by now.

They've been alive for a long time now. That death at Codsville didn't really take.

Does anyone know what Dark Matter book that flaming character behind Sideways belongs to?
My priority is black female characters; everything else is secondary.

Marvel: Miles Morales, Riri Williams, Ororo Munroe, Thor, Quentin Quire.
DC Comics: Vixen, Batman, Bat Family, John Stewart, Roy Harper, Tempest, Poison Ivy, Raven.
Comics: Y: The Last Man, Justice League America (2009), Ultimate Comics: All New Spider-Man (2011)
Ships: Thororo/ThunderStorm, Vixen/hasn't been created, Jason Todd/Kathy Duquesne.

    I think you're right.

    4 elements :: Fantastic 4 :: Team Terrific:

    • air = Invisible Woman = Mr. Terrific
    • earth = Thing = Metamorpho
    • fire = Human Torch =♀?
    • water = Mr. Fantastic = Plastic Man

Following up on his Mr. Terrific tweet, here's Lemire with Metamorpho...

I guess it's all but announced at this point that whatever it is that's featuring these characters, Lemire'll be involved.

He tweeted Plastic Man and Hawkman, too.

The green one? That's Ghost Fist from the Immortal Men. He's supposedly a forgotten hero of the 1920s.

Jeff Lemire confirmed to write the Terrifics. The lady is Phantom Girl. The new team is called "The Terrifics," and is described as "a family," bearing a striking resemblance to the Fantastic Four.

A DC Fantastic Four with a bunch of characters I adore.
I'd be massively hyped if not for Lemire's poor record with teams.

Last time he dipped into the LoSH (Justice League United) it was incredibly mediocre.

I assume/hope "Lass" is just a slip of the tongue.

Aside from the fact that phantom girl is in the 21st century, and how that might affect a possible legion reboot, i'm not a fan of plastic man, so i'm not sure i'll be picking this up.

Newsarama messed up. CBR's liveblog called her Phantom Girl, and so does this sketch.

Wouldn't be the first time she was trapped in the present.
Hopefully this time she's not retconned into being a cousin or Carggiteduplicate of the "real" Phantom Girl.
