GEIGER by Geoff Johns from Image Comics

    Geiger.jpg

I just started it and read the first two issues last night. The world building phase is still ongoing. It is a post-apocalyptic world of sometime after the year 2030. I sense it must not be too long after cause you need to be in a Hazmat suit to move around outdoors. The main protagonist actually has the last name Geiger, which I fell is just too spot on, Viktor Geiger. His full origin is still unfolding but it seems the ground work is being laid that as a cancer patient he was on some experimental drugs when he was caught outside in the nuclear blast.
Still waiting to find out about his full power set but he has a lot of nicknames. Glowing Man seems to be a dominant one.

Anyway, 10 issues to go. Lots to learn I'm sure.

I've recently read Bad Weekend by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips again and then read Cruel Summer for the first time. After finishing that it's given me the Criminal bug again, so now I'm rereading Coward.

Finished Love Everlasting by Tom King and Elsa Charretier yesterday. Still not entirely sure what the hell is going on, but in a good way.

Love that series. Shame it'll never be finished.

It feels like Planetary's cynical younger sibling. It's a bummer it won't be completed. Was it canceled? It has a similar pacing problem to the Wild Storm. Unlike Planetary, it didn't feel episodic.

Continuing on with my Criminal reread, I've just finished Lawless and I've just started The Dead and the Dying.

I have this in my stack. I should try to get to it while I have a couple of days off.

It's a good crime comic. I'm curious if they would do another arc soon. The series stopped after issue 20.
