I ask because I have heard that is the nickname of Philadelphia with over 500 gun murders every year (and with over 2500 gun shootings in the city).

Yes, it is. But it has nothing to do with those shootings and murders. Although it's a crime noir way of storybuilding with police involved. But with a twist (I don't want to spoil anything).

The recent Bendis Legion of Superheroes vs Justice League trade, awesome! I wonder if the other recent Bendis Legion is just as good.
(Black Adam in the Justice League… just doesn’t work for me. He’s a better villain.)

I just got done with Jack C Harris and Joe Quesada's The Ray. A really nice introduction to the character and I look forward to reading his solo series one day. I thought the last two issues were a disappointing conclusion. The Ray's mind gets morphed with Dr. Polaris for some reason and all of the mysteries teased throughout the miniseries don't get resolved in a satisfactory manner.

It's interesting comparing and contrasting Joe Quesada's art here to his later more, more confident work. Quesada shines the brightest when he gets the chance to display The Ray's powers. I'm not too crazy about Art Nichols as an inker. There's a lot of excessive line work that doesn't really add anything to Quesada's pencils. Unfortunately, Joe Quesada is only on layouts for the last two issues, with Nichols on finishes. The transition isn't incredibly jarring but it does contribute to the decrease in quality of the last third of the miniseries.

The Silver Age Legion of Superheroes Omnibus volume 1. Arguably both Jerry Siegel and Curt Swans best Superman stuff.

Most recently, 6 Sidekicks Of Trigger Keaton by Kyle Starks and Chris Schweizer. Crazy stuff. Lots of genuine laugh out loud moments.
