I've read and reread Claremont's X-Men, loved it. I've also read Daredevil and both Spectacular and Amazing Spider-Man.

Next on my list will be Thor, Alpha Flight and Fantastic Four.

Edit: I will reread Daredevil and Spectacular, when I find the time.

I'm slowly reading through all of Daredevil in order and I got to Frank Miller again a few weeks ago. It really does hold up well. There are just so many moments and, while you can see the influences from what came before (particularly Shooter and McKenzie), you can also see why it just appealed much more to everyone.

One of the best. With 59 issues in the original run and 20 issues in the follow up New Voyages series and the 4 issue X-Men/Micronauts mini series there is alot to read.

I'm assuming you can't get Micronauts or ROM on Marvel Unlimited, right?

Another one of the best. The original X-Men spin off series.

Cool thing about Byrne's run was he made Sue pretty much the most powerful member of the FF.

Nope. Marvel doesn't even have reprint rights so far as I'm aware. You'd have to go hunting for back issues or torrents.

Pretty much everyone had a defining run or two. Here are some favorites:

    Moon Knight by Moench
    Fist of Khonshu
    Hulk by Bill Mantlo
    X-Men throughout the decade
Captain America by Stern and Byrne
    Daredevil, "Born Again "

I'll second both of these. And I'll add:

    Defenders/New Defenders
    Doctor Strange/Strange Tales
"There's magic in the sound of analog audio." - CNET.

Everything Marvel UK. As kids, my brother and I couldn't wait to go down to the local SPAR to pick up The Incredible Hulk, Super Spider-Man, The Daredevils, Thor... and anything else Marvel UK was putting out at the time. These were mainly reprints with the exception of Captain Britain in The Daredevils.

Captain Britain by Dave Thorpe, AlanDavis, Jamie Delano and Alan Moore is pretty amazing.

To get any of the US Marvel comics, we would have to go into town.
The comics we would pick up and would in time become my favourites:
Daredevil by Miller. At the time I was a bit freaked out by the blood and "brutality". When I read, it again many years later, I was pretty awed by the art and layouts. So ahead of its time.
    Spider-Man (Amazing, Spectacular)
    Incredible Hulk

Much later on I came to appreciate The Uncanny X-Men by Claremont, Cockrum and Byrne.

It's so sad to see all these great comics of the past and realize comics will never be this good again. I don't there was a Marvel series I didn't collect and enjoy. I feel the quality of the comics were better in the early part of the decade. The Avengers weren't as good after Beast, Hawkeye, Vision and Scarlet Witch left. Same goes for the X-Men when Professor X and Cyclopes leave. The rebooted Defenders were bad.

The one that I really loved was Power Man and Iron Fist. I was so sad when that got cancelled.

I'll say the Dark Phoenix Saga. I mean, it's my favorite saga of all time. It's about my two favorite comics book characters. I loved everything in this (maybe the end end was pretty sad, I loved it and hated it at the same time. (well when I read it I knew Jean was coming back after so that had probably played in this)

That's sad that everyone seems trying to do their Dark Phoenix saga since then and failed, they should just stop with this (like Morrison lol and he failed like hell).

Their is a lot of comics I loved during this period but this is my favorite of all.

So many favorites. These days I read a lot of comics, and save the ones I love for the bottom of the pile so I can savor them. Back in the 80's the bottom of the pile was from the top down, because I honestly loved everything I read back then. I couldn't wait to hit my comic shop every chance I got. Some of my stand out titles.....

    Amazing Spider-Man
    Spectacular Spider-Man
    Web of Spider-Man
    Uncanny X-Men
    New Mutants
    X-Factor
    Power Pack
    Fantastic Four
    Avengers
    West Coast Avengers
    Captain America
