    Default Hellboy from Funko

    Any Funko fans here?

They just announced on SDCC new licenses, and one of them is Hellboy. And thanks god it's comic Hellboy and not some kind of movie merchandise.

Here is low-res pic of the first wave.

There's a glass case over at the Dark Horse booth with B.P.R.D. figures, but it's not clear who is making these. I'd take these in a heartbeat over anything from Funko.

I like Funko stuff, but I would much rather have these as well.

Funko is Fucking trash. I hate those things.

I wish 3A would call up Mike and make some great Hellboy figures.

I still want that older LoJo figure Mezco made.

Other than Nimue and LOJO who have only existed in the comics(so far) what about the Hellboy, Liz and Abe figures would have really looked all that different if these had been based on the Del Toro movies? The Funco figurines are pretty light on detail as a rule so I'm not seeing how these would have different.

It's just the first wave, meaning, that in the future there will be more comics-exclusive characters (if sales will be good).
And that's what I like about Funko. You can hate their style or quality, but most of the time it's the only chance to get figures of the rare and not very popular characters.

Have these Funko (or, better yet, those B.P.R.D. figures) started being released yet, or is there any word as to when they will be?

Well, a quick Google search lead me to the Toyark website's SDCC 2017 photo gallery, about the big glass display there - and it appears the B.P.R.D. figures were presented by Dark Horse slated for 2018 as visible from the little sign in this photo:

Yes, the Funko HB figures have been released. Funko is notorious for mixing figures from different lines in the same case, random distributions of figures in a particular line, and not always clearly identifying variants. (In fact, the companies partnering with them will sometimes put a sticker on the box window to indicate that the figure is a variant while the rest of the packaging goes unchanged.) Of the 6 figures in this line, the "Hellboy with Horns" is the variant (Hellboy is figure 01), and there is a sticker on the box indicating it as such. I managed to get a complete set from GameStop. Another good place to look is F.Y.E. if you happen to have one around you. Of course, there is always online. The Hellboy variant currently seems to be hovering around the $30US price point from third-party sellers.

The one I might consider is the Lobster Johnson one.
(But I'd want to see one in person first, and of course it would also depend on price.)

New variant was announced: Hellboy with Excalibur (and HB is minus an eye).

Concept art from Amazon where it is available for pre-order.

This was shared in the June 2018 Mignolaversity News Update:

It looks like Bleeding Cool also shows it as available at 2018's SDCC?
