With issue #12 New Comics became New Adventure Comics in early 1937.

Some of the stuff that would be interesting would be some of the old Federal Men stories. Supposedly one of those stories about Federal Men in the future was where the name Jor-El Came from. Siegel and Shuster did a lot of those type of crime stories. Radio Squad, Calling all Cars, that sort of thing. I'd love to see a Dr. Occult reprinting. Or Henri Duval. There are a lot stuff that's never seen the light of day. Bob Merritt anyone? Jack Woods?

With issue #15 in 1937 the "Adventure" outgrew the "New" on the cover of New Adventure Comics.

And in late 1938 the "New" was dropped altogether and the title officially became Adventure Comics with issue #32.

I liked when Batman's head was in a circle centred above the 'TEC logo--which only happened a few times in the early days--



But the idea was brought back when Archie Goodwin became editor in the early '70s, although again that was rarely done--

OK here's a question for all of you. If you could revive one title from this era that no longer exists, what would it be?

I'll start. This one is easy for me. It would have to be ADVENTURE COMICS, one of DC's oldest and longest-running titles. I think it's a huge shame it's no longer around. I'd want it to be an anthology title with at least 2 features, if not 3. I know that's a challenge considering today's price points but I can dream.

We could maybe start with some features historically associated with the title that don't have titles of their own right now. The Legion of Super-Heroes would be the obvious choice. That could be the ongoing lead with a prominent logo on the cover. The backups could maybe be the Spectre? Dial H for Hero? Sandman, Hourman & Starman also were biggies in the early years. Maybe a rotating feature with current takes on Golden Agers? Whatever works. I'd buy the hell out of it.
