I appreciate any type of music including jazz but i just prefer listening more to other types of music.

I have never been too crazy about instrumental music, but I love me some Duke Ellington, Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson, Billy Eckstine etc.

I only listen to Jazz if it's fused with another genre or it's Miles Davis and Nina Simone.

Yeah I listen to it. Mostly when reading or when working. I find it more up tempo than classical (so it keeps me alert) but not too up tempo to distract me. I tune into the local Jazz station here in Toronto. I honestly can't tell one artist from the other when listening to it. I have found that I like Coltrane though. I also like to listen to a lot of 'lounge house' which is sort of an off shoot of jazz.

I heard a cat named Eric Wyatt on the radio the other day (he's in Melbourne, Australia for three nights of shows and I live close enough to Melbourne to get their radio stations). He blew me away. check out his album Borough Of Kings on the Spotify.

Oh sure you had to start a thread about jazz didn't you? Currently listening to Jeremy Steig /Something Else/ 1989/ LRC records/Sonny Lester producer. Steig,flute/ Jan Hammer e- piano/ Gene Perle e- bass and upright e-bass/ Eddie Gomez e- upright bass tracks 4 and 6 only/ Don Alias drums and perc. Mostly Steig tunes with a couple of co writes with Jan Hammer and one with Don Alias. Wish I could You Tube a tune for you but I don't know how .Very rare occurrence of Steig recording. Years between records for whatever reason. Not sure if available for streaming. LRS Records did this for CD in ADD format. Check it out. Melodic with a touch of edge on 1 tune.

    Type this: (VIDEO)

Then copy and paste the URL info

    Then type this: (/VIDEO)

So what you want to post will look like this: (VIDEO)http//youtube/blahblahblahgibberish(/VIDEO)

But replace the parentheses with brackets

Hope that helps! Looking forward to seeing what music you post!

Thanks ed2962. I will try to get this up and running at some point. Maybe we should all get together and start a CBR Jazz station. This is CBR Jazz welcome.
