    I posted this on the "Return of Your Recent CD's/Music Purchases" thread, but figured I'd share it here, too, since some of what I got was jazz, and other stuff sometimes crosses over:
    Went to a library book sale and picked up a bunch of cds, too.

    * Bessie Smith - The Complete Recordings Vol. 1 <two cd set>

    * Frank Sinatra - The Voice / The Columbia Years (1943-1952) <four cd set>

    * Blue Note Blend and Blue Note Blend 2 - various artists
    <both cds from Starbucks Coffee>

    * Artie Shaw ‎– Best Of The Big Bands (1990 CBS Records Inc.)

    * Cafe New York - Classical Sounds of New York City - various artists

    * Jackson Pollock Jazz - various artists
    (The Museum of Modern Art)

    * Priceless Jazz Collection sampler - various artists

    * News & The Blues (Telling It Like It Is) - various artists
    (Roots n' Blues series)

    Currently listening to

    Artie Shaw ‎– Best Of The Big Bands
    (Ⓟ Ⓒ 1990 CBS Records Inc.)

    another of the cds I bought at a library book sale a couple of weekends ago.

    Interesting thing is I don't think I had most of these cuts on my other Artie Shaw cds, and a few of the songs I had previously heard other versions of as sung by Billie Holiday.

    NOTE: My Dad was a fan of Glenn Miller. I originally bought this cd for him many years ago.

    The death of Doris Day put me in the mood to listen to

    Les Brown - Best of the Big Bands
    (Ⓟ&Ⓒ 1998 Sony Music Entertainment (UK) Ltd.)

    which had some of Day's vocals on cuts like "You Won't Be Satisfied Until You Break My Heart" and "Sentimental Journey".
