    Well, it might also help if people listening to jazz would also visit this thread:and post something (either the name of the song/artist or a clip) about what jazz they've got on at the moment.

    I guess I haven't heard enough of Henry Mancini's work because I don't automatically think of him as "jazz". (Though I guess some of his movie songs have a jazz influence?)
    And what has Ed Brubaker done musically? I know him more as a writer of comic books and such.

    This might be inaccurate as the song is more Bossanova than jazz, but I think the roots are there. And I think it's still pretty cool.

    In any case, here is a song that's on my playlist, Sergio Mendes', "Mas Que Nada:"
    "I am a man of peace."

    "A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."

    Picked up a few more since then:
    * Benny Carter Collection 1929-1947
    * Roy Eldridge Collection: 1935-1945

    And today I got delivery of:
    The Stan Kenton Collection: 1937-47

    The Teddy Wilson Collection: 1933-41

    All of them were cd's released through Fabulous/Acrobat Music, and these were all priced at $4.99 (U.S.) each at barnesandnoble.com.

    I can't guarantee the sound quality of all of the cuts, but so far the albums were worth it for me.
