Like coming back to life again, since I seem to remember Shiera being the most noteworthy casualty of the weird parameters the White Light set up as to decide who lived and who died?

Btw, wasn't the blond hawkwoman from the early New 52 that was after Carter Shiera or was she someone else? (Really is annoying we have 2 or 3 different female hawks and only one guy they all gravitate around like this... like you'd have thought the Kendra's Sheira's and Shayera's would have met at some point, but they all seem to play the same part as if the others dont exist.)

It would break some of Morrison's central metaphors if Hyper Adapter wasn't the bat smashed through the window, or doesn't really serve Darkseid.

The HA wasn't the bat who smashed through the window, though. The opening to Batman: The Return makes it clear that it's just an old bat who got into a fight with a bunch of other bats. The whole Millerian "old bastard" narration is directed at The Bat, to give it some proper nounage.

Snyder said in an interview that this is the same Kendra from Pre-Flashpoint. He said a lot has happened to her off-screen since her resurrection as Shiera during Brightest Day.

Wait...so all the stuff with Kendra and Carter Post-Crisis is still basically canon? Should the League actually know who she is ?

I know Kendra and Post-Crisis/Hawkworld Shayera met during the Johns Hawkman run, and I think she met Chay-Ara in JSA.

all katars- Thanagar
all carters- Egypt

All Shieras and Kendras-Egypt
All Shayeras- Thanagar

Right?

DC can never get the Hawks (or Donna Troy) straightened out: their continuity has been a basket case since COIE. It's not that DC hasn't earnestly tried to fix them, but somehow, the fixes always seem to aggravate the existing problems.

Curious: Hypothetical Question: What if DC came up with a rule that starting (whatever date), they determine one origin story per character, no one can change it, and if something comes up in the future that contradicts the story they have to work with it instead of around it?

Good idea, with one caveat: if telling another origin is necessary for telling that story, then the story must be set in a separate continuity from the main, month-to-month ongoing continuity.
