No, the Multiverse should be open for everyone. Barry should also have very Noir and Detective stories, for instance. Plus, it's not the first time that Batman is involved in such cosmics stories, only the first time he is at the center, and it's only because he was deeply involved in Final Crisis that he is now at the center of this own (which is great because it connects those great events).
I remember seeing a poster in one of the build up threads here saying he didn't think Barbatos would play a role. I'm not surprised it does, but I am happy. I also like all the little continuity porn here- the flashback to Final Crisis in particular is intriguing. There's a lot of potential for some interesting stories here too, especially regarding the revamped Blackhawks.
Snyder nailed a sense of big comic fun with this. I really like the cold opening on the War Moon. Just solid, stupid fun.
That was Korath I believe, he and I argued over Barbatos, I was certain about its involvement.
I think it was me ! In the end, I'm happy that Barbatos is here, but I was afraid he would be badly used. Here, he seemed to be expanded upon in a good way. It's not really rewriting its history, just revealing more about it. No, if Snyder could explain his connection to Darkseid and the Hyper-Adapter...
Before I plunk down money on this that I feel I'd rather spend on the Jurgens/Bogs Sandman Special, just tell me this: how many scenes of Batman in a mech suit and/or armor are there and how many times will Batman say "damn" this time around? If either number is over 3, I'm out.
Spurious versions, fundamentally wrongheaded premises, can, and often do, prevail from time to time, but eventually the character, Superman himself, Tulpa Superman, will–somehow, somehow–resist and reverse that meddling, reconstituting himself in the world as he means to be. ~Alvin Schwartz (paraphrased by Tom deHaven)
Did Wonder Woman even do anything in Darkseid War? Because I seem to remember all the rest of the League getting cool temporary upgrades and one shot issues and Diana got jack beyond a brother no one asked for and hasn't been mentioned since.
I rather disagree with that notion. Mostly because the barrier Barry normally breaks is the time barrier, not blast off to other universes unless and actual crisis is looming.
Plus as others have said... the Multiverse is far too big to belong to 1 character.
But for decades now they haven't done anything with that and there are other characters that can do it as well.
You misunderstood and thats ok. All I'm trying to say is that I think this would've been a cool time for Flash to shine, that's all. I know for a fact that the multiverse is too big to belong to one person. I was only referring to this specific storyline. For example, If metal was something that dealt with advanced technology, the right person for the job would be Vic. He is technology.

I didn't care for the story in total but WW didn't look bad because she didn't get an "upgrade" Because they were less upgrades than possessions, really. Which Diana avoided because she's already part goddess. She was portrayed as the only one of sound mind to help everyone else. Two of the four main antagonists of the story were specifically from her mythos. And the whole story was framed from her point of view. So it was definitely very Wonder-centric.

Damn, there was a lot to digest. Good stuff though. Can't wait to see Hawkman.
