When my family first bought cable I remember watching movies over and over during the summer.

I don't think it's Lantern Hill, and if it is I'm really misremembering it. I'm pretty sure the movie I can't think of took place further back in time. The movie opens, from what I remember, with the girl coming to her new home in a carriage in the snow, and the house is a pretty impressive looking gothic mansion with secret passageways throughout it that the kids end up discovering.

The only movie I remember with kids and secret passages is Candleshoe

I watched a lot of Charlie Chaplin when I was a kid, particularly Modern Times and The Kid. I also watched Hocus Pocus every Halloween.
