A big change with the Kingpin

Interesting.Kingpin was first a villain of Spider-Man so it would be cool if this development about him was reflected in the Spider-Man comics.
Have not ben reading Daredevil but the issue #595 looks a good re-starting point to read the Daredevil stories again.

It seems unlikely that it would happen. He has too much history too much of his past has been made public... but then again, a LOT more likely than Norman Osborne being given SHIELD, and THAT happened. This at least feels like something that was on Fisk's bucket list.

I blame Secret Empire. In that, or at least the tie-in material, Kingpin was shown providing shelter and security (and maybe food) for the civilians trapped inside the New York Darkforce dome, and he explicitly said that those civilians would remember who "really" protected them in their hour of need. As a character in the video game Overlord put it, "Gratitude has its own rewards."

kingpin being mayor is a lot similar to luthor becoming president. Will he have as long a tenure as him or Jonah had is the question.

It'd be interesting if the Kingpin does some good as mayor.

I'd imagine there wouldn't be many strikes under the Fisk administration.

Yeah, he'll do some good for the sake of his public image and so he can "earn" the loyalty and support of his constituents, especially against any vigilantes or anybody else accusing him of dirty dealings. I mean, it's one thing to fight Fisk when he's "just" a really powerful crime boss, but it's another when he's got the entire machinery of city government at his disposal and trying to take him on gets you called a terrorist.

Yes. Daredevil is my favorite book right now and has been for a while. High quality stuff.
