Not cynical, he believes in people. He should be Wise to know what to do in a situation. His parents taught him well.

I think Superman should be "situationally cynical." By that, I mean if Lex Luthor made a proclamation that he had this great idea that gives himself more power, but it's for the benefit of all humanity, of course he's going to be skeptical and not take Luthor at his word. On the other hand, if he and Luthor were pushed to desperation, he might believe that he could reach out to Luthor's humanity.
Not cynical unless it is like Lex saying he'll be good.
I think he should be a realist and not sanctimonious or too cynical. Hell batman is the most cynical person in the league and it makes sense and he is human.
More cynical than classic Captain Marvel (DC version), less cynical than classic Captain America.
He's been in a war, he has seen concentration camps, he's been betrayed by his own government. His cynicism level, while still way lower than average, is not going to be 0%.
He expresses it in sayings "I'm loyal to nothing except the dream."
At 0% cynicism, there is no distinction between the dream and the reality.
