My reason for picking the characters for this team because, the Avengers and Justice League and FF seem to always have MORE than 1 powerful Hero or Heavy Hitter or High Energy manipulator. So my team consists of the X-Men's most powerful Mutants (IMO).

Uncanny X-Men: The classic '80s line-up - Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Colossus, Phoenix, and Rogue - would be the field team that goes out on missions, with the original 5 and Prof. X as a semi-retired support team that coordinates operations from the mansion.

Generation X: The New Mutants & Gen X kids would be the school staff with the New X-Men/Young X-Men kids as students.

X-Force: Anyone left over would be part of a government-sponsored mutant special ops team led by Cable, with a rotating line-up that varies from assignment to assignment.

M is mostly there for reconstruction. I honesty don't like what PAD and most other modern writers did with her, but she was my favorite out of the Gen X crew. I'd bring back her Emma-stopping telepathy levels, and superior intelligence, that has all but fallen to the wayside(and yes, I know it was the twins for most of Gen X, but they were emulating Monet).
