I really want to see either Jon Hamm or Mikkelsen as Stephen though. Mikkelsen has that 'offcult' vibe.

I love Mads, so I completely agree.

That said, I'll be happy if Stephen is NOT Cumberbatch, Depp or Hardy.

I fear that having Depp would have a SERIOUSLY negative effect on the movie. Hell, it could be his Downey-Esque comeback but I'm not convinced.
As for Hardy, I can't see it to be honest.

I have to say, as a fan of Hardy, Strange doesn't stand out as an obvious role for him. I would like to see him in the MU though and it could be an interesting choice.

Though really, I'm waiting for him to be cast as Brian in a Captain Britain movie. A guy can dream right?

I think Jaret Leto is an interesting choice, but obviously I'd go with Mads Mikkelson.

Agreed, Depp would make me skip the film theatrically. I see Hardy for someone else in the Marvel U too > likes Shinglepants' suggestion of Hardy for Captain Britain.

I hope they announce who will play Strange anyway. That's the perfect place to do it.

If it's an origin film, I can see both of your choices actually. Baron Mordo as human competition and possibly ol' Dormammu to stir up things. If it does have some slight horror concepts, both are strong possibilities.

I kind of doubt we'll see Eternity until further down the line.

Why? Is it because their all really good actors? Is it because they've all won awards for acting before? Is it because they've all been really successful and could give the movie a higher profile, which it needs? Seems like there'd only be UPSIDE to casting any of them.

by the hoary hosts of hoggoth! How could someone not want an incredible actor like Jhonny Deep play Strange? The name alone would do a lot to ensure the success of the good Doctor's film!
