Why are so many women in DC Comics 5 11 In Height?

I was reading the official DC comics reference guide. I have notice that a lot of women in the DC Comics World are all the same height. 5 feet 11 inches tall!

For example:

Huntress
Raven
Barbara Gordon

just to name a few!


Anyone have a guess to why this is?

Raven used to be shorter... In the NTT, Kori was the tallest, then Donna was "average", Raven was shorter than Donna

IMO, whatever the heights for both male and female superheroes, the inches above each gender average should be the same. So if, on average, men are said to be 6'2'', then women should be 5'8''.

It's the tallest they can be without reaching 6 feet which is the glorified hight for guys.

Though, as a percentage, that would still put women more above average than men. Though not as extreme as now. And I guess there's little reason to quibble over fractions of an inch.
