I know it was an issue back but man did I like that scene where spiderman tells him to shut it down.

You don't get to see that side of spiderman often but it is cool when others recognize him as an elite hero.

Right?! That was why I liked much of JMS runs on Spidey so much, because we had a competent and mature Peter Parker. Yet most Marvel writers want to continue to write him as a freaking high school student. It's very frustrating.

Guys, how would you rate the Post Brubaker DD books? Looking to resume collecting?

Andy Diggle's run is terrible. The first part of Mark Waid's fun is great. The second part in San Francisco has some good moments but gets incredibly dumb. Charles Soule's run isn't spectacular, but it's a solid even keel for the most part throughout. Chip Zdarsky's run has barely begun, but it's been great so far.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Diggle's run is terrible. It has some good moments but on the whole isn’t the best. If you're not a hardcore Daredevil fan or completist, you don’t need it. Although, it's good to have an overview going into Waid's run. It was Brubaker who left Matt Murdock possessed by the beast of The Hand and Diggle had to take it from there. I'm inclined to agree with Mike that the first part of Waid's run is very good but it goes downhill with his second run in Ssn Francisco. The Original Sin tie-in in the second run is very bery good and is one of my favourite Daredevil stories. Also if you're used to the "gritty" art of Bendis' and Brubaker's runs, the art gets getting used to.

During Waid's run, an 8-issue Dark Nights anthology was released and was collected as a tpb. The first story arc by Lee Weeks in the first 3 issues is downright excellent (ranks as my no.1 DD story). The other 2 arcs are forgettable.

Soule's run is very good overall. Takes a while to get going but the payoff is absolutely worth it. An extremely solid run and probably makes it in my top three Daredevil runs after Frank Miller's and Dennis O'Neill's. Personally, I wish he had written at least five more issues. Jed Mackay also wrote a five issue story which bridges the gap between Charles Soule's and Chip Zdarsky’s runs. Zdarsky’s run reads very well at the moment.

Yes!! I just found that Dark Nights TPB on sale somewhere and for the life of me couldn't figure out when it was supposed to be set... but MAN that was some amazing writing. The Lee Weeks book was by far the highlight, but I just love that book.

The Lee Weeks story is kind of a lost DD tale. It definitely takes place some time after Brubaker's run and before Waid's run as he reminisces about his past loves and one of them is Milla. The David Lapham story which isn't bad at all takes place during Waid's first run as Kirsten is in it and is the assistant DA. The absolutely awful Palmiotti/Silas 3-parter is pretty hard to place and could be during any of the various DD runs.

Totally agreed on Waid's run. The first volume was so good. But the move to San Francisco and the biography and everything in between felt so silly.

I'm enjoying the Chip Zdarsky's Daredevil.
It's been a long time since i read a DD book, and now it's already one of my favorites.
